ITINERARY

Day 1 Assemble at Changi Airport for Check in

Day 2 Fukuoka – Takeo – Nagasaki 福岡 - 武雄 - 長崎

Hotel: Luke Plaza Hotel or similar / Japanese room

Meal: Meal on Board / L / D

Upon arrival at Fukuoka Airport, coach transfer to Takeo city and stop for lunch [Saga Beef Set] at a local restaurant. After that, visit Mifuneyama Rakuen Garden (御船山楽園) ✿. Created as a living work of art for Shigeyoshi Nabeshima – ruler of Takeo region in 1845, the park spans 50 hectares and offers year round scenery. In April, the bowl-shaped azalea valley is thick with azaleas of various colors and resembles a carpet of flowers. There are over 200,000 azaleas of different types such as the Kurume and Hirado varieties. To the side of the teahouse, lies a wisteria estimated to be 170 years old. Next, transfer to Nagasaki for hotel check in and enjoy your dinner [Japanese Kaiseki] at the hotel. After dinner, Enjoy the Greatest Night View at Mt. Inasayama by Ropeway (イナサヤマ). In 2012, the summit was selected as one of the Top 3 Night Views in the World. Rising 333m above sea level in the middle of Nagasaki city, it is well loved by locals and tourists alike. Here, you can get a 360 degree view of the surrounding scenery, such as Mt. Unzen, Amakusa, Goto Islands and Port of Nagasaki. Finally, return back to the hotel.

Day 3 Nagasaki – Shimabara – Kumamoto 長崎 - 島原 - 熊本

After breakfast, transfer to Glover Garden (グラバー園) ✿, an open air museum with Western-styled buildings. Named after Thomas Glover, a Scottish merchant who assisted in overthrowing the Tokugawa Shogunate during the Meiji Restoration and featured prominently during Japan’s industrialisation. Various flowers are also in full bloom here and looks stunning with the background of Nagasaki Port and traditional buildings. Next, you will visit Oura Church (大浦天主堂). A church with a memorial to the persecution of Christians in feudal Japan and also one of the most important examples of Christian church architecture in Japan. After this, proceed to a local restaurant for lunch [Sara Udon Set]. Then, visit the Hibaruyama Flower Festival (雲雀山花まつり) ✿. Set on Heisei Shinzan which is Japan’s newest mountain formed since 1990 due to a lava dome formed by magma rising to the top of the volcano. The magnificent and peaceful park is a beautiful place to take a stroll all year round with various flowers blooming in the different seasons. In spring, there is an endless field of bright yellow canola flowers and cherry blossoms. Thereafter, take the ferry to Kumamoto and transfer to Shimodori Street (下通). Enjoy some free time at Kumamoto’s largest shopping arcade filled with stores selling local and international brands with wide range of goods, restaurants and bars. Dinner will be under your own arrangement here before transferring to the hotel for check in.

Day 4 Kumamoto – Kuju – Beppu 熊本 - 九重 - 別府

This morning, you will be visiting the Mt. Aso Crater (阿蘇火口). This is Japan’s most active volcano with the caldera spanning over 24km from north to south. The Nakadake Crater is 1,592m high and is constantly emitting volcanic steam. Enjoy lunch [Kumamoto Local Japanese Set] at a local restaurant, before moving on to the Kuju Flower Park (くじゅう花公園) ✿. There are about 3 million plants of more than 500 different varieties that bloom seasonally around the year. Covering 49 acres of land, take a stroll amongst the fields of lavender, salvia, pink moss, tulips, sunflowers and poppies. In spring, the fully bloomed tulips are the main highlight of the park. After that, transfer to Beppu Onsen for hotel check in. Tonight, enjoy your dinner [Buffet] at the hotel.

Day 5 Beppu – Yufuin – Fukuoka 別府 - 湯布院 - 福岡

This morning, start your day at Chinoike Jigoku Hell (血の池地獄). The Beppu Hells are a cluster of onsens that are renowned for the unique beauty meant for viewing instead of bathing. Chinoike Jigoku has a history of over 1,300 years and is considered one of the oldest natural hot spring in Japan. The vivid red is formed by the heated red mud that contains various minerals. Next, you will visit Umi Jigoku Hell (海地獄). It is one of the most well-known tourist attractions in Beppu. Named after the cobalt blue colored surface formed by silica crystals in the hot spring, it is a rare phenomenon for hot springs in Japan! After that, proceed to a local restaurant for lunch [Dangojiru Hotpot Set]. After lunch, visit the Yunotsubo Kaido Street (湯の坪街道). Running through the center of Yufuin hot spring town, there are plenty of interesting shops, cafes and galleries to explore. You will also visit Lake Kinrin (湯の坪街道). One of the best known spots in Yufuin, the mystical views is created by a mixture of cold and hot spring water which causes steam to rise on the surface. Thereafter, stroll around Yufuin Floral Village (湯布院フローラルビレッジ). The quaint mini theme park has old English vibes that feels like you are entering a fairy tale. Here, there are cottage-style stores selling whimsical ornaments, pastries and more, as well as petting zoos. Finally, transfer to Fukuoka for hotel check in. Tonight, enjoy your dinner on your own in the city.

Day 6 Fukuoka – Yame – Moji 福岡 - 八女 - 門司

On Board: Tokyo Kyushu Ferry / Western State Room

After breakfast, you will have some free time in Fukuoka until departure. Enjoy you own lunch in Fukuoka. In the afternoon, we will depart and visit the Uminonakamichi Seaside Park (海の中道海浜公園) ✿. It is an expansive park that is popular for flower viewing. Millions of flowers are planted around the different areas of the park such as tulips, roses, sunflowers, cosmos, nemophila and more. During your visit, over 1 million nemophilas will be in full bloom, blanketing the flower hill in bright blue. Next, visit the Yame Chuo Daichaen Tea Fields (八女中央大茶園). The hundreds of acres of green tea bushes form an admirable green sea as far as the eye can see. The Yame tea fields are the 6th largest tea producer in Japan, yet makes up only 3% of the tea produced. After that, enjoy your dinner at a local restaurant before transferring to Moji Pier before we board the overnight Ferry to Tokyo.

Day 7 On board – Yokosuka 横須賀

Hotel: Mecure Hotel Yokosuka or similar / Western room

Today, enjoy the facilities on board the cruise such as the open air onsen, sauna or arcades. There is also a planetarium and movie room where you can rest comfortably. Alternatively, spend the day relaxing as you journey from Moji to Yokosuka. Lunch will be a Barbeque on board. After lunch enjoy a [WOW EXCLUSIVE!] Origami Experience. You can learn and master the Japanese art of making origami which models our surroundings such as fauna and flora. Dinner [Japanese Set] will be served on board before disembarkation. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and check in.

Day 8 Yokosuka – Kamakura – Tokyo 横須賀 - 鎌倉 - 東京

After breakfast this morning, visit the Mikasa Memorial Ship (記念艦三笠). The battleship was built in 1902 and was used in the Battle of Tsushima where Japan won against Russia. The ship is a symbol and pride of the Japanese and is now filled with presentations about the ship’s history. Next, the strawberry orchard awaits you! Enjoy Strawberry Picking which is just in season. After which, transfer to Kamakura, have lunch [Sashimi Set] at a local restaurant before visiting Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine (鶴岡八幡宮). The most important Shinto shrine of the city was founded in 1063 and is dedicated to Hachiman, the patron god of the Minamoto family and samurais. You can also visit the nearby Komachi Street (鎌倉小町通り). The modern strip amongst ancient streets of Kamakura offers a timeless ambience with trendy boutiques and gourmet cuisine. Thereafter, transfer to Tokyo city for hotel check in. the rest of the evening is free and easy and dinner will be under your own arrangement.

Day 9 Tokyo 東京
