Upon arrival at Kansai Airport, coach transfer to Dotonbori (道頓堀) & Shinsaibashi Street (心斎橋). The shopping districts are famous and main highlights of Osaka, with its eccentric atmosphere, large illuminated signboards and endless restaurants serving specialty dishes such as takoyaki, ramen, crab and udon. This evening, you will have dinner [Shabu Shabu Course] at a local restaurant. At the end of the day, transfer to hotel for check in.

Day 3 Osaka – Kobe – Awaji 大阪 - 神戸 - 淡路

Hotel: Yumekaiyu Awajishima or similar / Japanese room

This morning, transfer to Kobe Nunobiki Herb Garden by Ropeway (神戸布引ハーブ園) ✿. On the ropeway up, you will get an aerial view of the Nunobiki Waterfall and Herb Garden. At the observation deck located on next to the top station, enjoy the spectacular view of Kobe. The garden is one of Japan’s largest gardens with over 200 species of seasonal flowers and herb plants blooming throughout the year. Enjoy your lunch [Kobe Beef Set] at a local restaurant. After lunch, transfer to Awaji Island. Here, you will first drive past the Akashi Kaikyo Ohashi Bridge (明石海峡大橋). Proceed to Awaji Hanasajiki (あわじ花さじき) ✿. A flower park located on Awaji Island that covers over 15 hectares. Various flowers bloom all year round, in March, you can expect to see rapeflowers! Situated on a hill 300 metres above sea level, you will get a panoramic view of Osaka, Kansai region and the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. Finally, transfer to the hotel to check in and enjoy your dinner [Japanese Kaiseki] at the hotel for tonight.

Day 4 Awaji – Naruto – Takamatsu – Kotohira 淡路 - 鳴門 - 高松 - 琴平

After breakfast, the strawberry orchard is waiting for you! Experience strawberry picking which is just in season! Next, transfer to Naruto and along the way, you will drive past Onaruto Bridge (大鳴門橋). Translated to the Great Naruto Bridge, it is another suspension bridge along the Kobe-Awaji-Naruto Expressway. You will then board the Naruto Whirlpool Cruise (鳴門の渦潮), which will get you right up next to the unique whirlpools. Formed by the large volume of water between the Seto Inland Sea and Pacific Ocean during high and low tide, the peak season to see them is in spring, where they tend to be larger in size and ca get up to 20m in diameter. After that, enjoy your lunch [Horakuyaki Grill Set] at a local restaurant. After lunch, visit Ritsurin Park Garden (栗林公園) ✿. The large historic garden in Takamatsu was completed in 1745 as a private strolling garden and villa for feudal lords and is one of the largest of its kind. Nowadays, it is open to the public and a beautiful spot for cherry blossom viewing, with over 1,000 trees. Finally, transfer to hotel for check in. Tonight, enjoy your dinner [Japanese Kaiseki] at the hotel restaurant.

Day 5 Kotohira – Kojima – Kurashiki – Okayama 琴平 - 児島 - 倉敷 - 岡山

This morning, if you are up for a challenge, you can try climbing the 1,368 steps to Kompira Shrine before departing on the itinerary for the day. This is Shikoku’s most popular shrine that is dedicated to sailors and seafaring. Along the way, there is a shopping arcade filled with souvenir shops and Sanuki Udon restaurants. Next, along the way to Kojima, you will drive past the Seto Ohashi Bridge (瀬戸大橋). It is an architectural feat that took a decade to build, is the world’s longest 2-tiered bridge system and is visible from space. In Kojima, you will visit Kojima Jeans Street (児島ジーンズストリート). The street offers over 30 shops selling premium Japanese denim brands as well as flagship stores of popular brands. View the unique roads that are dyed indigo – the color of denim and red and white lines that resemble denim’s selvage. Following that, transfer to Kurashiki and have a lunch [Japanese Set] at a local restaurant. After lunch, visit Kurashiki Bikan Quarter (倉敷美観地区). During the Edo period, it was an important point along the distribution route for rice. Today, the original shophouses with white walls and black tiles have been converted into cafes, boutiques, souvenir shops and museums. Thereafter, transfer to the Manekineko Museum (招き猫美術館). Referring to the Japanese beckoning cat that symbolizes good fortune and wealth, the lucky cat museum has over 800 figurines in different shapes, sizes, colors and materials from the Meiji era to recent additions by internationally renowned artists. Here, you will get to paint your own manekineko figurine and take it home as a souvenir! Before heading for dinner, visit a Sake Brewery in Okayama. Learn about the production process in this city where sake is revered, made with high level of craftsmanship, good quality rice and water. Tonight, enjoy your dinner [Sake Brewery Japanese Set] at a local restaurant before transferring to hotel for check in.

Day 6 Okayama – Okuno Island – Onomichi 岡山 - 大久野島 - 尾道

After breakfast, transfer to Okunoshima Island by ferry from Tadanoumi Pier. Upon arrival, proceed for lunch [Japanese Set] at a local restaurant. After lunch, stroll around the Rabbit Island Okunoshima (大久野島). Famous for its large population of rabbits, you can purchase food and feed the friendly bunnies while exploring the island. History buffs would enjoy learning about the tragic past of Okunoshima. A secret weapons factory was built here, during World War 2, and you can learn more about it at the museum and several military outposts scattered around the island. Next, transfer back to Tadanoumi Pier and make our way to Onomichi to visit Senkoji Temple by Ropeway (千光寺) ✿. Near the summit of Mt Senkoji, the bright red main hall stands in contrast with the blue sky and sea, as well as the green forest. Along the ropeway, you will see over 1,500 cherry blossom trees starting to bloom. Finally, transfer to the hotel and check in. Tonight, enjoy dinner [Japanese Kaiseki] at the hotel restaurant.

Day 7 Onomichi – Shimanami – Kure – Hiroshima 尾道 - しまなみ海道 - 呉市 - 広島

After breakfast, on the way to our first stop of the day, we will drive past Shimanami Kaido Bridge (しまなみ海道). The 60km toll road is also known as Nishiseto Expressway and is the only one traversable by foot or bicycle that connects the main island Honshu with Shikoku Island. First, visit Kosanji Temple (耕三寺) ✿ & Miraishin Hill (未来心の丘). The temple belongs to the True Pure Land Sect of Japanese Buddhism and was founded in 1936 by a successful businessman who was inspired by his devotion to his mother. Taking over 30 years to be completed, many of its buildings are modelled after other famous temples. In spring, gorgeous cherry blossoms create a stunning contrast to the traditional temple buildings. Miraishin Hill directly translates to The Hill of Hope. Entirely made of white marble imported from Italy. It is reminiscent of Santorini Island in Greece and created by world renowned sculptor, Ittou Kuetani. After lunch [Boiled Whitebait Rice Bowl Set] at a local restaurant, transfer to Yamato Museum (大和ミュージアム). Here, you will learn about the battleship Yamato which was the largest and most heavily armed warship in the world. There are also authentic relics from World War 2, including fighter planes and submarine Kaiten human torpedo. Following that, transfer to Hiroshima and visit Peace Memorial Park (Atomic Bomb Dome & Museum) (平和記念公園) ✿. The museum consists of 2 buildings surveying the history of History, the atomic bomb, and its outcome. There is also the A-Bomb Dome which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which used to be the Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall and remains standing after the explosion. There are also ab out 300 cherry trees planted around the park, blooming beautifully in spring. Head to dinner [Okonomiyaki Course] at a local restaurant before transferring to the hotel for check in.

Day 8 Hiroshima – Miyajima – Iwakuni – Hiroshima 広島 - 宮島 - 岩国 - 広島

After breakfast, transfer to Miyajima via ferry and start your day at Itsukushima Shrine (厳島神社), the star attraction of the shrine island. It is known worldwide for its iconic floating tori gate built over water. Playing with the contrasts in color between the red gate and shrine, green mountains and blue sea, it illustrates Japanese scenic beauty which combines nature and human creativity. Next, enjoy some free time shopping at Omote Sando Shopping Street (表参道商店街), the 350m main street of Miyajima that leads to Itsukushima Shrine. Here, you will find many stores selling food such as noodles, okonomiyaki, oysters and red bean cakes, as well as souvenir shops with trinkets such as a mini floating torii, rice spatulas and more! After lunch [Anago Eel & Fried Oyster Set] at a local restaurant, transfer to Iwakuni to visit Kintaikyo Bridge (錦帯橋). Japan’s most elegant wooden bridge has 5 arches crossing over the Nishiki River. In spring, you will see cherry blossom trees lined up on both sides of the river and during peak sakura viewing periods, there are food stalls and entertainment pop-ups. After that, we will transfer back to Hiroshima and enjoy some free time at Hiroshima Hondori Street (広島本通商店街). Located in downtown area of the city and close to the Peace Park, there are over 200 stores selling stuff ranging from clothing, cafes, arcades and anime merchandise. Tonight, dinner will be at your own expense here. Finally, transfer back to the hotel.
