ITINERARY

Day 1 Assemble at Changi Airport for Check in

Day 2 Hiroshima 広島

Hotel: Grand Prince Hotel Hiroshima or similar / Western room

Upon arrival at Hiroshima Airport, coach transfer to Hiroshima Castle (広島城). Reconstructed from the former castle, the 5-storey keep now houses a museum about Hiroshima and the castle, while the top floor provides panoramic views of the city. After that, head to Hiroshima Hondori Shopping Street (広島本通商店街). A bustling downtown shopping area with a wide variety of local and international shops and restaurants. Thereafter, proceed to a local restaurant for dinner [Okonomiyaki]. Finally, transfer to hotel for check-in.

Day 3 Hiroshima - Miyajima - Hiroshima 広島 - 宮島 - 広島

After breakfast, transfer to Miyajima by ferry and visit Itsukushima Shrine (厳島神社), the famous shrine with a floating tori gate. Built over water, both the shrine and torii gate look like it is floating in the sea during high tide. In low tide, visitors can walk out to the sea and see the gate from up close. Next, enjoy a Momiji Manju Cooking Experience, a famous confectionery of Hiroshima, a steamed maple leaf-shaped bun made from mochi flour with various fillings. After that, proceed to a local restaurant for lunch [Anagomeshi & Fried Oysters Set]. After lunch, continue your journey to Miyajima Ropeway (宮島ロープウエー). Leading up to Mt. Misen, it is the highest peak of Miyajima and offers spectacular views of the Seto Inland Sea and even Hiroshima city on clear days. At the peak is an observatory and multiple Buddhist temple structures. Thereafter, transfer back to the hotel by ferry and enjoy your dinner at the hotel [Japanese Kaiseki Course].

Day 4 Hiroshima – Onomichi – Kurashiki 広島 - 尾道 - 倉敷

After breakfast, the strawberry orchard awaits you! Indulge in Strawberry Picking, which is currently in season. Thereafter, have a lunch [Set Menu with Local Fish and Vegetables] at a local restaurant. After lunch, visit Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter (倉敷美観地区). It was an important point of distribution for rice during the Edo Period. Along the canal, many of the original storehouses have been converted into museums, souvenir and boutique shops as well as cafes. Thereafter, transfer to the hotel for check-in. Tonight, enjoy your dinner [Japanese Kaiseki Course] at the hotel.

Day 5 Kurashiki – Yonago – Matsue 倉敷 - 米子 - 松江

After breakfast, start your day at Matsue Vogel Park (松江フォーゲルパーク) ✿, a large indoor garden of beautiful flowers and birds along Lake Shinji. All year round, about 10,000 flowers are in full bloom such as begonia and fuchsia. In the park, there are about 400 birds of 90 species such as penguins, owls and colourful tropical birds. After that, lunch [Shimane Wagyu Yakiniku] at a local restaurant. After lunch, continue your journey at Inasa Beach (稲佐の浜). One of Japan’s best beaches and a Japan Heritage Site, it is a spiritual spot with a mythical connection. The small island you can see from the shores is Benten-jima and has a small shrine on it. In the evening, when the sunsets behind the island, it is known as a symbol of “Izumo, sacred place of the setting sun”. Next, you will visit Izumo Taisha Shrine (出雲大社) – one of Japan’s most important shrines. Every October, the shrine is said to be the place where all the gods meet every year. Visitors pray to the deity for good relationships and marriage. Finally, transfer to the hotel for check-in and dinner [Japanese Kaiseki Course].

Day 6 Matsue – Kurayoshi – Tottori 松江 - 倉吉 - 鳥取

After breakfast, visit Adachi Museum of Art (足立美術館). Founded by Adachi Zenko, he combined his passion for art and garden design. Today, it is best known for its award-winning garden since 2003 and can be enjoyed any time of the year. Next, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant [Fresh Sashimi Rice Bowl]. After lunch, visit the Tottori Hanakairo Flower Park (とっとり花回廊) ✿. The fifty-hectare flower park located at the foothills of Mt. Daisen has stunning displays of various flowers throughout the year. In June, you will be able to see the park’s main flower: lilies, roses and more. Next, you will have some free time strolling Kurayoshi (倉吉). The historic city in the center of Tottori has historic merchant quarters and classic white-walled warehouses. Here, there are many craft galleries, and gift shops with local specialities such as ceramics, bamboo crafts, local indigo textiles and wooden sculptures. Finally, transfer to the hotel for check-in. Tonight, enjoy your dinner [Shabu Shabu Set] at the hotel.

Day 7 Tottori – Kinosaki 鳥取 - 城崎

Hotel: Hidamari or similar / Japanese or Japanese Wetsern room

After breakfast, visit the Tottori Sand Dunes (鳥取砂丘). The only desert in Japan. The sand dunes were created over 100.000 years ago as deposits of sand from the Chugoku Mountains carried by the Sendaigawa River. After that, visit The Sand Museum (砂の美術館). Located just next to Tottori Sand Dunes, is an incredible themed sculpture, all made of sand. Next, learn how to make your own soba at a local restaurant, which will be part of your lunch [Soba Noodle Set]! After lunch, transfer to Kinosaki Onsen (城崎温泉) for hotel check-in. Spend some time exploring the charming old-fashioned onsen town with 7 public bathhouses in a yukata or make a side trip on your own to the nearby Onsenji Temple. Tonight, enjoy your dinner [Japanese Kaiseki Course] at the hotel restaurant.

Day 8 Kinosaki – Himeji – Osaka 城崎 - 姫路 - 大阪

After breakfast, visit Japan’s best-preserved feudal castle – Himeji Castle (姫路城). The elegant white castle is one of the original 12 castles and is considered the most spectacular castle for its imposing size, beauty and well-preserved complex castle grounds. Next, have lunch at a local restaurant [Set Meal with Hotpot and Local Vegetables]. After that, transfer to Osaka for hotel check-in. The rest of the day is free at your own leisure and dinner will be under your own expense.
