ITINERARY
DAY 1: SINGAPORE - TOKYO - AOMORI
Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport for your flight to Tohoku, Aomori via Haneda/Narita airport. Upon arrival, proceed to your hotel.
DAY 2: AOMORI - AKITA
Start the day with a rejuvenating 1.5 to 2-hour hike along the scenic Oirase Gorge, where nature's artwork unfolds at every turn. Next, immerse yourself in the lively spirit of Japan at the Matsuri exhibition, a colorful exploration of the country's rich festival culture. Then, roll up your sleeves for a delightful DIY Kiritanpo-making session, a culinary tradition of Akita and get to snack on your own making. Continue to the serene Lake Tazawa, setting the stage for a peaceful evening. Cap off the day with a restful overnight stay in the enchanting city of Akita, a perfect blend of urban charm and rural beauty.
DAY 3: AKITA - SHONAI
After breakfast, proceed to the vibrant Sankyo Warehouse, a treasure trove of local delights and craftsmanship. Dive into the heart of Akita's community as you wander through stalls brimming with regional flavors and unique handicrafts. Next, visit Kamo Aquarium which holds the Guinness World Record for the largest number of jellyfish in its collection. The range of jellyfish and jellyfish-related souvenirs and dishes are guaranteed to delight jellyfish aficionados. If you are not a jellyfish fan, the collection of fascinating marine animals is guaranteed to delight and entertain just as much. End the day on a relaxing note at the Japanese Sake Museum. Learn the secrets behind Japan’s most well-known drink and sample exclusive styles and flavors before making your purchase at your own expense.
DAY 4: SHONAI - OBANAZAWA - YAMAGATA
After breakfast, proceed to the Mogami River for a scenic boat ride in the tranquil waters as your guide serenades you with the traditional Mogami river song, you will understand why this river is deeply loved by the locals. Then, roll up your sleeves and be a baker for the afternoon as you participate in a hands-on DIY gluten bread session. In case you are still hungry, savour delicious handmade tofu before heading to Ginzan Hot Spring in Obanazawa. Dotted with wooden inns, this atmospheric hot spring town looks like the set of Japanese period film and was in fact, featured in the famous Japanese tearjerker drama, Oshin. Tonight, enjoy a relaxing hot spring bath at a onsen resort in Yamagata.
DAY 5: YAMAGATA - NIIGATA
Enjoy a unique treats like rice ice cream, a delightful fusion of traditional flavors and modern culinary creativity. Next, proceed on to the quaint Salmon Town, Murakami and take a stroll to witness the thousands of salmon being caught in by local rivers to be dried, salted, and hung all around the town. Then, learn about the fascinating history and cultural significance of salmon at the Salmon Museum. End your day by retreating to the lively city of Niigata for an overnight stay.

DAY 6: NIIGATA

DAY 7: NIIGATA - TOKYO

Both activities offer a unique way to enjoy the natural beauty of the region, providing an adrenaline rush for all ages. Here, you'll embark on a comfortable and speedy journey to Tokyo aboard a bullet train. During the trip, savor a delicious Ekiben bento box for lunch. These iconic Japanese train lunchboxes are a culinary delight, offering a range of regional specialties and flavors that make the train journey a part of your cultural experience. end the day with a shopping spree in Shinjuku, a sprawling district dotted with dazzling neon lights and sleek skyscrapers.
DAY 8: TOKYO - SINGAPORE
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight home.
